Two Simple Steps To An Affiliate Marketing Fortune

Two Simple Steps To An Affiliate Marketing Fortune

By: Rockford Tapscott

After watching hundreds of students build web businesses in a wide range of niche markets, I’ve concluded that there are really only two critical steps to succeeding as an affiliate marketer. Many people make their journey towards affiliate success a lot harder than it really needs to be and this article aims to help you to shortcut your learning curve towards becoming a super affiliate.

Ok, so what are the two critical steps?

Step 1 - Choose a niche that has thousands of passionate people already spending real money online on HIGH TICKET products and services. Your niche should also have a variety of membership sites or other forms of continuity products you can promote that have ongoing monthly fees.

It doesn’t matter if you aren’t an expert in this niche, by spending a few days or a week researching, you will know as much as 90% of the other people involved and you will be able to hold your own when writing articles and creating content for your website, newsletters or your blog.

The other critical element in niche selection is to make sure there are TWO TIER affiliate programs available so you can not only get paid for your direct referrals, but you can become a Joint Venture Broker and earn second tier commissions as well for introducing others to the program.

Do some research and find an affiliate program that offers -

* A two-tier structure so you can get leverage on what you do and earn commissions from the work of those you recruit into your team

* A full time affiliate manager who is there to answer your questions and help you to promote the program (and increase your commissions) in every way possible

* A range of pre-written promotional materials and an automated, step by step sequential marketing system that continuously follows up with the prospects you refer

* A range of high ticked products and at least one monthly membership program that automatically earns you commissions month after month for every member who continues their subscription

* Bonuses and incentives for high-earning affiliates to encourage you to become a peak performer

Step 2 - Promote your affiliate program by using Articles submitted to article directories and ezine publishers

The problem with entering niche markets that have high ticket products and lots of competition is it’s nearly impossible to generate enough visitor traffic to your website or blog to make any headway. This is where writing and submitting articles and press releases gives you a major advantage over people who are working their tails off trying to get pages ranked well in the organic search results or who are buying traffic using PPC.

However, by finding keywords that aren’t as popular as the top 50 words that everyone else is building pages for, or the keywords they are bidding several dollars a click for using PPC, you can run rings around most of your competition and clean up while they all slog it out and get nowhere.

What you want to do is find long-tail, multi keyword phrases that are highly descriptive and related to your niche, and write articles (or have them written for you) specifically focused and well optimized for those words. Then submit your well-optimized articles to the top article directories where they will be indexed by the major search engines.

If you do your job right, your articles in these directories will rank well in the engines, you’ll generate lots of visitors to your site and you have the chance of turning these visitors into customers.

When these visitors arrive at your website, offer them something of real value to encourage them to join a list, and you can build your affiliate business quickly and inexpensively while your competitors won’t have a clue about what you are doing. There’s really no downside to this strategy as long as your articles are well written and informative.

So to summarize, in order to make an Affiliate Marketing fortune in two simple steps, all you need to do if find a niche market that already has lots of people spending money online and plenty of competition; learn all you can about that market so you become an expert (or at least you know more than 90% of the people involved); join a two tier program run by an affiliate manager who will help you succeed, and then promote that program using well written, keyword focused articles.

That’s all there is to it. Don’t go head to head with the guys with deep pockets. Use ‘Marketing Ju Jitsu’ and sidestep your competitors by using free articles to attract website visitors and you can quickly become a super affiliate without spending a fortune on marketing.

Must Know Article Marketing Tips!

By: Daniel Millions

The importance of articles in todays websites and internet based companies are immeasurable. They dictate a lot in the success and the drive of traffic into one’s site. It has become a key element in making a site work and earns a profit. A website operator and owner must have the good sense to include articles in his or her site that will work for them and earn them the many benefits articles can give to their site.

Articles have been known to be the driving force in driving traffic to a website. Articles are a factor in giving site high rankings in search result pages. The higher a site ranks the bigger slice of the traffic flow pie he gets. With a huge number in traffic flow, there are more profits and more potential for other income generating schemes as well.

But, it is not just about stuffing your site with articles; they have certain requirements as well. These requirements must be met to obtain the maximum benefits an article will provide for your site. A well written article will catch the eyes and interest of your customers and keep them coming back for more. They would also be able to recommend your site to others.

Here are some tips to help you and assist you in making your articles. Below you will read about four things all articles must have to make it successful and helpful in making your site a profit earning and traffic overflowing site.

Keywords and Keyword Phrases.

An article must always be centered on the keywords and keyword phrases. As each website visitor goes to a site, there are those who are just merely browsing but actually looking for a specific something. When this happens, a searcher usually goes to a search engine and types in the keywords they are looking for (e.g. Toyota Camry, Meningitis, Tax Lawyer and Etcetera). It could be anything they want.

The Important thing is that you have an article that has the keywords that are related to your site. For example, if you maintain an auto parts site, you must be able t have articles about cars and their parts. There are many tools in the internet that provides service in helping a webmaster out in determining what keywords and keyword phrases are mostly sought out. You can use this tool to determine what keywords to use and write about.

Keyword Density

Know that you have your keywords and keyword phrases, you must use them fully. An article must have good keyword density for a search engine to feel its presence. Articles should at least have ten to fifteen percent of keyword density in their content for search engines to rank a site high in their search results. Getting a high rank is what articles do best for a site.

Keyword density is the number of times a keyword or keyword phrase is used on an article. The number varies depending on the number of words used in an article. An effective article must have a keyword density that is not too high or too low. With a very high density, the essence of the article is lost and may turn off a reader as well as the search engines. It comes off as overeager. A low number may be ignored by the search engines.

Good Article Content

Like what is stated above, you cannot just riddle an article with keywords. They must also be regarded as good reading materials. Articles must be able to entertain people as well as provide good information and help for their needs. Articles should be written well with correct spelling and good grammar. If you want people to trust you, make your work good and well thought out.

People respond well to figures, facts and statistics. Try to get great information and as many facts as you can. A good and well written article will boost your reputation as an expert in your chosen field or topic. As more people believe in you. They will be able to trust you and your products.

Linking Articles

And another important thing to remember. If you are going to submit articles to ezines and/or contribute your articles to newsletters and other sites, don’t ever forget to include a link to your site. A little resource box with a brief description of your site and you should always be placed right after your articles that you have submitted. If people like your articles, they will most likely click on the link directing them to your site.

Article Marketing

January 24th, 2007

Article marketing is the process of writing articles for the purpose of having them distributed on the web, sending traffic to your site as a result.

Article marketing starts out with the writing of articles on topics related to your web site subject and adding a link to your website in the article. In fact, you can often add in more than one link in your articles, so that you are promoting multiple web sites.

You start with writing the article and explaining to the reader a new idea, or as the answer to a question they might have.

After they read your article, if they want to know more, then they click though to your web site, and there is your traffic flow started.

There are two main ways to create articles traffic. Both require submitting your articles to online article directories that promote your articles for free.

One way is to submit your articles to the best and biggest directories that get the most traffic, and you receive traffic via direct linking hits.

The second way to do it is to submit your articles to a lot of directories, and create many backlinks to your websites. You won’t get as much traffic directly from the articles themselves, but you will get traffic from the search engines ranking you higher and people start to find your web site via the search engines.

BrilliantWords.com is growing all the time and is a great site to submit your articles to. We are constantly looking to improve the site and the service offered and we hope to grow a lot more in the coming months.

Can You Profit From Affiliate Marketing Without A Website?

Can You Profit From Affiliate Marketing Without A Website?

By: Saleem Rana

Time and time again, internet marketers have claimed that to do business in the World Wide Web, you’d need your own website. Your own website, they say, is your headquarters in cyberspace. It’s your very own digital store where you could lead potential customers and where you offer the products you have for sale.

Though it’s true that having your own website can greatly aid you in your quest to achieve success in the online field, a website is not the end all and be all of internet salesmanship, particularly in the line of affiliate marketing. Yes, you could make a living online as an affiliate even if you do not have the benefit of your own website!

How is this possible? How can this be done? Read on, dear friend, as we discuss alternative strategies that will allows you to make the most out of your affiliate marketing campaigns without having your own webpage on the net.

Affiliate marketing is a program whereby the affiliate can earn some generous commissions for every successful sale they manage to refer to the affiliate merchant. The affiliate’s task is merely to pre-sell the affiliate merchant’s goods. The sales page, the payment processing, the digital delivery, and post sales services shall be the responsibilities of the affiliate merchant.

The affiliate only has to refer people to the affiliate merchant’s sales page. This can be done by making people click on the affiliate links exclusively provided for the affiliate. Now, these affiliate links are very important. They are like the markers for the affiliate program. They will tell the system that a visitor was actually referred by the appropriate affiliate.

Marketing the affiliate merchant’s goods without the benefit of a website entails marketing the affiliate links in a variety of channels that would serve the affiliate in lieu of a website of his own. This can be done through the following techniques:

Article marketing. We all know how powerful affiliate marketing can be in link building campaigns. But instead of providing for links to your own website, you could provide your affiliate links instead. Article directories allow you a resource box per submission, where you could tell your readers about yourself as well as leave a link of your choice. Now, you have to remember that some article directories do not allow affiliate links in the bodies of the articles themselves, but affiliate links are perfectly allowed in the resource box.

Forum marketing. Online communities, or forums, are likewise great channels where you could promote your affiliate links. Membership in PHP2.0 based forums gives you a signature box where you could advertise your links. Use this to advertise your affiliate links. For every post you will make, your signature box would appear. Post a thousand messages, and you’ll have a thousand pages advertising your affiliate links! Want to know the forums which are relevant to the subject serviced by the affiliate products you’re promoting?

Advertise in ezines. This may cost you some cash, as many ezines charge for advertising space. Nonetheless, you could expose your affiliate links to highly targeted prospects using this approach. Imagine if the ezine has a list of 10,000 people. You’d immediately be able to reach 10,000 quality leads with one advertisement. Again, you don’t need a website. Simply use your affiliate link in your ads.

The absence of your own website is never a bar to online success. Most of the strategies we have discussed here can be accomplished without spending a single cent. If you do not have the financial resources to register a domain or to subscribe to a web hosting service, you could still achieve success with affiliate marketing. Joining an affiliate program is free. Promoting your affiliate links can likewise be availed of without any charges.

Viral Marketing to Improve Sales

Viral Marketing to Improve Sales

By: Kathryn Lively

Viral marketing is so aptly named because the idea, when promoting a product, is to allow for brand recognition to spread quickly, like a virus. In the case of marketing, naturally, the end result will not yield illness, but sales. For the author, viral marketing - or word of mouth campaigns - is an essential method of promotion.

When one thinks of viral marketing as a means to promote books, music, or other items, more than likely it is believed that such techniques are limited to the Internet. This is not necessarily the case. Viral marketing refers to the use of exist social networks or communities for promotion, and while the Internet lends a good amount of convenience here, there are ways to spread “the virus” beyond cyberspace if one is creative enough. By establishing recognition of your book within a small network, you have the opportunity to expand your audience as people engaged in that network move outward and employ word of mouth to recommend your books.

Here are just a few examples of online and offline viral marketing techniques designed to raise awareness:

E-Mail signatures: Every time you send an e-mail - to a friend, relative, or to anybody - you should take the opportunity to promote your work. You need not send a full-blown pitch with every message, but it is imperative to include your URL and catchy one-line slogan in your signature. You would be surprised how a few carefully chosen words can remain fresh in a consumer’s mind for years. Slogans are the core of advertising, and to include a tagline in your e-mail signature can entice readers to click through to your website.

Having worked with a number of romance authors with regards to promotion, I find a number of them have effective e-mail signatures designed to lure readers:

Bridget “an author who never goes” Midway

Do you dare? Ellwood…If She Could. Leigh Ellwood, Romance Author

Where spicier romances are concerned, a reader is going to want to know exactly what Leigh dares, and how far Bridget goes in her writing. Such a slogan, however, does not have to be limited to a body of work. If you have only one book to market, think of a phrase or line relevant to the story that will attract readers. Sell your book in ten words or less and offer visitors incentive to click through to learn more.

Forums and Messageboards: Depending upon the subject of your book, you can find readership in the many online forums available to you. While some forums may not allow direct advertising, equating such blatant promotions to spam techinques employed by robots, there are ways to steer around restrictions.

If you have written a non-fiction work, it is highly recommended to spend some time each day patrolling any message boards relevant to your topic. Whether you have authors a sports biography or self-help work, there is certain to be one or two forums where potential readers exist for your work. If you write fiction, there do exist a number of readers forums related to many genres, from romance to science fiction to fantasy. If your works are in similar vein to popular books and movies (a fantasy novel akin to Tolkien, or a hard-boiled private eye story), seek out those forums as well. Readers of a certain fandom may be willing to broaden their interests if they are duly enticed.

Depending upon the forum, signatures are permitted. Use the opportunity to create a signature (as with your e-mail) designed to encourage forum members to click through to your site. As you become a part of these communities, you also have the opportunity to establish yourself as an expert on forum subjects. Post and reply to posts, and increase awareness of your brand. Employing such a subtle, viral technique can be helpful in bring people to your website and your book.

Articles: Similar to the concept of being a forum expert, writing articles relevant to your book’s topic is a useful method of viral marketing. Whether your write fiction or non-fiction, poetry or plays, supplemental articles for distribution enhance your credibility and allow for the increase of traffic to your website.

Concise, short articles of about 300-400 can be submitted to third-party article databases for distribution. With each article you write, include a biography and URL link to your site. As website owners needing content pick up your material for use, they are obliged to use your links. This method of viral marketing sets you up as an expert on the subject at hand, and also increases opportunity for higher link popularity on your website.

Article writing as a viral marketing technique is also effective in print. Find periodicals and journals relevant to your book’s topic, and submit articles for publication. For mystery and romance authors in particular, there exist opportunities to write anecdotes on the writing process and story inspiration. Mystery Readers Journal and Mystery Scene Magazine are two such outlets that welcome author input.

Mailing Lists: Similar to the message board, the topic mailing list brings the conversation and information directly to the readers’ mailboxes. Visit a database for mailing lists, such as Yahoo Groups or Topica, and you will also find a number of authors have mailing lists set up to promote their works. Some lists are employed purely for newsletter distribution, while others allow for readers to interact with each other and the author.

Whether you decide to maintain your own list or join lists relevant to your books, viral marketing comes into play through your posts and signatures. Try not to be an overt advertisement, but maintain some degree of visibility and authority on relevant subjects. Build trust among the readership, and eventually you will find readers clicking through to your site to learn more.

Signage: Perhaps while driving you have seen the a window sticker on the care in front of you, advertising a URL. It might have been a commercial vehicle, or a mom’s van promoting an in-home business for cosmetics or other goods. You might have it thought it amusing at first, but such signage can be useful in imprinting a brand into the general consciousness. Billboards would not exist otherwise if there was not some proven effectiveness.

The good thing about a sticker on the back window of a car or truck is that it does not have to be too obnoxious, just large enough to be seen. Shop around for a custom design, then you have a traveling advertisement for your book everywhere you drive.

Just as word of mouth advertising helps promote books, music, and other items, so can viral marketing be as effective. Plant seeds of interest throughout the Internet and watch as your traffic and sales bloom.

How To Quickly And Easily Make Your Articles Work For You?

January 17th, 2007

How To Quickly And Easily Make Your Articles Work For You?

By: Wycliffe Williams

The amount of people searching for information online is increasing daily. A recent poll showed that they are starting to rely more heavily on the internet for their information needs. Last months tally of online searchers was a whopping 72% of Americans, and there is no let up in sight.

These people are hungry for information and as a result, search engine use is steadily climbing. A whopping 85% of American adults are using them to hunt down information. These online users number well over 100 million. What share of these visitors do you get to your website?

If you want to reach your share of those visitors you should publish articles on the web. When you write articles you should provide your readers with useful, honest and interesting information.

Information is the basis of the internet. By providing the search engines and your online visitors with plenty of information on your topic you will have plenty of opportunities for the search engines to list you in the search results.

It is personally rewarding to create information. When you do this you will also become a resource for other websites that may link to you. They will provide your site with valuable hyperlinks. Information is a great way to show your visitors that you have something worthwhile to impart and they will be more likely to recommend you to others.

Information can be news related to your topic. It can also be given in the form of updates, even commentary or just plain tips and hints. Everyone loves a how to article; especially when it breaks down a challenging process into bite size chunks.

Most authors find that article writing has a residual value for their site. It drives traffic to their site long after they were written. Well written articles are the catalyst for establishing search engine placement and optimization.

Compelling, quality articles are necessary if you want to drive targeted traffic to your website. Why is this strategy so successful? Simply because people love to be informed and entertained. This trait in people is what increases the value of your articles immeasurably.

Article writing can be a daunting task for some. Others find a great deal of pleasure in writing. Most find that the difficult part of writing is actually starting the writing process.

Starting is made so much easier when the author is well versed in the selected topic.

You must determine the problem you want to solve with the article. The next step is to write the headline then compose the article around the headline. In doing so the writer must ensure that the content and layout fit the problem they are addressing.

The author must decide to now publish the article. Publishing articles will drive an automatic and continuous stream of traffic to your site. This decision stops so many writers dead in their tracks. Fear of rejection by the readers and criticism from others is the primary cause of the big freeze.

What is the quickest way to overcome this fear? The easiest and fastest way to control the fear is by publishing the article to one of the many article directories. By taking this step the author will experience such a positive rush the fear will soon dissipate.

Five Romantic Valentine Scenarios

Five Romantic Valentine Scenarios

By: Shayla Moore

If you are short on ideas on how to celebrate Valentines Day this year, why not consider one of the following scenarios? The following choices will offer you some of the most romantic options available in Valentines Day romance.

Poolside/Beach

Nothing could be finer than a romantic beachside event with the person you love. Paradise by the water, you will be sure to feel the love and energy as you focus on your lover, the sparkling water, and the warmth of the waves or the feel of the sand. You can make love in the water or on the sand. You can also have a romantic picnic, or spend the evening wrapped in each other’s arms while you look up at the stars together. No matter what you are doing this location has the ability to be incredibly romantic, especially at night with the moon and the stars shining brightly.

Mountain Retreat

If you are a fan of snowy weather, as opposed to the sun and sands of paradise, the Mountain Retreat is perfect for you. Whisk your lover away to the wild and fun wilderness. Take in the snowy mountains while you sip cocoa and curl by a warm fire. If there is snow on the ground you might sneak out to play in the snow together, like children. No matter what you decide to do, many people find locations like this, where you are tucked away alone together, to be the perfect thing for two lovers on Valentines Day.

Luxury Hotel

If you have a chance to get away, you do not have to go as far as the beach or the mountains. A luxury hotel will offer all the romantic options that you might want. Many of these fabulous hotels offer rooms with fireplaces, Jacuzzi tubs, and huge beds. Additionally, depending on the area you can expect dazzling views of city skylines from many hotel room windows. All you need to do is order some room service and enjoy some tasty treats, some great wine, and each other when you choose an option such as this.

Wine & Dine

If you are looking for a romantic idea that will not take you out of town then you might want to consider wining and dining your lover. All you need to do is choose one of the fanciest, most romantic restaurants in town and let them do the rest. You will be able to enjoy a candlelight dinner with your lover in a romantic setting with excellent food. Afterwards, take your lover dancing or go to a late show. If the beach is nearby, take a walk along the sand while holding hands. Whatever happens from there is up to you!

Fireside

If you find that you are on a budget, but you still want to have a little romance this Valentines why not create the romance right in your home. Start a fire and camp out in front of it. You can serve some excellent tasting food and wine, and have some sweet treats ready so that you can create a romantic picnic in front of a roaring fire.

This will offer you a wonderfully romantic gesture that also gives you the pleasure of allowing you to feel right at home. Once you’ve finished with your picnic you can curl up right there together or you can pack up your meal and head to bed. Either way the result is well worth the small effort it will take to make this romantic transformation in your home.

Some Of The More Common Shoe Accessories You Should Have And Why

January 15th, 2007

Some Of The More Common Shoe Accessories You Should Have And Why

By: Gregg Hall

If you are one that has a large inventory of shoes in your closet there are some shoe accessories that can go a long way to increasing the time that your shoes last. These items include custom bags, polish, stretchers, shoe trees, and even shoe polish.

I am surprised and amazed sometimes that many people will spend hundreds of dollars on a pair of shoes and then not take the time to care for them properly. Polishing your shoes is one of the easiest things you can do to prolong the life of your shoes and make them look like new, especially for leather shoes. Another secret of old time shoe-shine professionals is the use of mildly abrasive, non gel toothpaste to remove any scuffs that may appear on your shoes.

Sometimes you may have the need for shoe stretchers to help change the shape of your shoes when you are suffering from bunions or corns. These tools can be a great tool but you have to be careful that you don’t over do the stretching or you can end up tearing the shoes.

Shoe trees are another often used accessory, especially by ladies. I know I can still remember when I was a kid my grandmother had a closet full of shoes and they were all on shoe trees. By storing shoes on a shoe tree you are able to maintain the shape of the shoes and reduce the chance of them shrinking.

Another very popular accessory to protect your shoes is a custom shoe bag. These are especially good for keeping your shoes safe and protected when you are traveling or if you need to change your shoes during the day, such as if you go to the gym before or after work. This option comes in handy when you are busy and don’t want to have to return home or if you are going to be more than an hour away from home. These bags are also waterproof so your shoes will be protected from damage from rain.

In addition if you are the type of person who does all of their own polishing and buffing you will want to make sure that you always have a good supply of soft rags and also a safe place with shelving to store the shoes long term. If you tend to send your shoes out for care then you should have the names and numbers of the shoe care professionals you use regularly.

For other shoes you have that are constructed of materials other than leather you will need to be sure that you have the proper cleaning and maintenance items for them as well. In many cases you can simply wash them in cool water and let them line dry. Be careful about putting them in a dryer as the excessive heat can damage them.

Hobbies - Guitar - How To Start!

Hobbies - Guitar - How To Start!

By: John Pawlett

Playing the guitar is one of the most popular hobbies in America. Millions of Americans play the guitar as a leisure activity; and why not? It is one of the easiest musical instruments to learn and the most popular music of the day is played on the guitar. Many people do not realize how easy it is to really learn to play the guitar. Some people, who first begin learning to play the guitar, try to learn a very hard song from the start. Then they start thinking they will never be able to learn to play, that they just do not have that natural musical talent that some people have, when really they just picked a hard song.

Some people try to play the guitar for only about a week and expect to pick it up that quickly. If they cannot do it in a week, then again they think they just do not have that musical talent. All of that is nonsense Not even an experienced musician would be able to pick up the guitar and learn it in a week. He or she would know how the music works and understand how the guitar is supposed to played, but it still takes a little time to develop the correct motor skills with your hands and fingers.

Anybody can pick up the guitar and learn to play some of their favorite songs if they just stick with it for a little while and practice for only a short period of time each day. To begin playing the guitar, all you have to do is learn a few chords. Most rock, country, or other popular genres or songs can be played with only a few easy chords on the guitar. They say with only three or four chords you can play most rock songs ever written. Most people I have taught to play the acoustic guitar or electric guitar, if they would just listen to me and try it for one week, they could get down three chords in that week or two weeks and then be able to play a song with those chords.

I also teach them a strumming pattern to play the chords with. That is all you need and you are set with your new hobby of playing guitars. I myself studied music for seven years or more before I tried to learn the guitar, so I did have a good grasp of music theory, but it still took me several months to learn to play well, because I had to develop the motor skills of moving my fingers on the strings and coordinating my fingering and strumming patterns.

It also takes a little while to learn to sing on top of keeping the beat and playing the guitar. But it can be learned quickly as well, if you just stick with and give it a real try. I did not have anyone to teach me when I first began playing the guitar. I just bought an acoustic guitar and taught myself to play. Every now and then people would give me pointers or teach me how to play something. I have taught other people to play also, and noticed that with a teacher it is surprising how fast people can pick things up.

I wish I would have had a teacher when I was learning. There are little tricks and licks on the guitar that only an experienced guitar player would know. So if you are looking for a new hobby, one that you can do whenever you want, with friends or by yourself, then learn to play the guitar. It is like riding a bike. Once you learn it, you never forget. It will be something you can take with you for the rest of your life, entertaining crowds and parties and serenading that special someone. And, if you do not have a special someone, it will definitely help your chances of finding them.

Pay Per Click - Till Debt Do Us Apart

Pay Per Click - Till Debt Do Us Apart

By: Catherine Matthew

Pay per click, or PPC, is an advertising technique used on websites, advertising networks, and search engines.

With search engines, pay per click advertisements are usually text ads placed near search results; when a site visitor clicks on the advertisement, the advertiser is charged a small amount. Variants include pay for placement and pay for ranking. Pay per click is also sometimes known as Cost Per Click (CPC).

Google adwords. Much has been written about it. Some good and some bad. In my opinion a product gains more bad publicity when the people who buy it do not understand it. Is it really expensive getting a Google Pay-per-click? How do you use it to the best of your advantage without going broke?

How do you get your ads seen by people who are most likely to click on them? Follow these simple tips when creating your next ad with Google Adwords and see how easy it is.

In this article, I will talk about 3 different ways to reach your potential clients through location targeting.

Country targeting

Do you own a global business like mine where your customers are located all over the world? Then this is for you. Google has a list of over 250 countries to choose from. You can select any number of countries from this list and your ads will be shown in those countries only. However, do keep in mind that the more your ads are shown (called impressions) and the more clicks you get, the more you will have to budget for it. You can set a budget for your ads and you also have the ability to change the budget whenever you want. More on that in later articles.

Region and City targeting

If you own a business catering to a specific region you can select just that location for your ads to be seen. For example, if you have a business in San Francisco, California, you can have your ads targeted only to users searching for your services in San Francisco. All ads using this method of targeting have a fourth line of text mentioning the region. This is to inform users viewing the ad and hence becomes more informative.

To understand better about how a specific ad in a specific location is shown, here is how Google does it. When a user types in a particular query, the users IP address and query location is determined by Google to show your ads in that region only.

Customized targeting

The above targeting is still a bit too wide for you? Say you own a fish and tackle business near the sea side in Melbourne, Australia. How do you let your online customers know about it? This is where the customized targeting comes in. You can even narrow down the location in which your ads are showing by selecting the latitude and longitude of a location! Yes! This is getting easier, isnt it?

There are three ways you can customize your location. One is by setting a radius around your business address, another is to have a latitude and longitude defined around your business (all you need to do is click on the map provided by Google and you will get the coordinates and lastly a multi-point triangle area on the map so only users in that area will see your ads.

The beauty of this is that you can change your customized targeting at any point of time. All of this can be done online.

Voila - Thats it, there you have it. Once you create your ads, based on your keywords and the different ways you have optimized your web page, you will soon have some traffic coming your way.
